15ct antique garnet ring made in 1899

Just look at the detail and work in this ring and see why it is so easy to fall in love with genuine antique rings, especially from the Victorian era.

This wonderful 5 stone garnet ring was hand made in Birmingham in 1899 and was made in 15ct rose gold.

The colour of the gold is that lovely warm colour that only rose gold has and matches so well with the five garnets and looks so good on the finger.

15ct gold was only used from 1854 to 1931 when the standard was then changed in the UK to 14ct gold.

Set with five rhodolite garnets, these particular garnets have more of a soft purple hue to them as opposed to the more common pyrope garnets that have more of a rich burgundy colour to them.

Again, the colour of these garnets match and compliment so well the warmth of the 15ct rose gold.

As seen in many late Victorian rings such as this, the detail in the setting is truly remarkable and one of the main reasons why antique rings are still so popular and desired.

Even on the left and right side of the ring is the most delightful and elegant hand engraving that gives this ring that extra "something" only seen in antique jewellery.

To think that all of this work was created well over a century ago is just wonderful and adds to the charm and appeal of an antique ring such as this even more.

No matter which finger this ring will be worn on, it will always look amazing and give the new wearer so much pleasure and joy in not only wearing it, but admiring all of the fantastic detail and work that can be seen.
