2001 Rolex Datejust 16233
Here is a Rolex watch that truly combines both elements in a watch – dress as well as sports, thanks to the gold and steel combination as well as the Rolex Oyster band.
This is the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust model 16233 made in 18 carat yellow gold and stainless steel in 2001, and one that is in superb condition from the case and band, all the way to the movement.
With the stylish champagne coloured dial with the elegant small Roman numerals on the outer edge and fitted with the date window, this is such an easy dial to read day or night. With the yellow gold bezel on the stainless steel case that measures the traditional 36mm across plus the Rolex screw down crown, this all gives the watch the perfect look to wear with a suit.
However being fitted on the Rolex Oyster band gives it such a great sport look that makes this watch perfect to wear to the boardroom, just as much on the weekend.
With the original sticker on the back showing how little this watch has been worn, the band is of course in superb condition.
Inside it is powered by the well regarded 31 jewelled automatic Rolex calibre 3135 that has just been serviced by our very own in-house watchmaker who himself used to work for Rolex, and of course runs perfectly and also comes with our twelve month warranty.
This is a great Rolex that will suit anyone of any age and always be the perfect watch to wear for any occasion, day or night.

A brief history on the Rolex 16233 compared to the Rolex 16013:
The Rolex Datejust reference 16233 is the upgraded version of the earlier Rolex Datejust reference 16013. The 16233 was now fitted with the scratch resistant sapphire crystal over the earlier models with acrylic crystal. All Rolex 16233 were in stainless steel and 18ct gold as opposed to earlier models which were in either stainless steel and 14ct gold or stainless steel and 14ct gold. Another major difference was the movement. The earlier Rolex 16013 models used the 27 jewelled Rolex calibre 3035 which was introduced in 1977 and had a power reserve of 42 Hours. The Rolex calibre 3135 which was introduced in 1988 now has 31 jewels, still a 42 hour power reserve and and Kif shock absorption. The Kif system is a Rolex invention that make the balance wheel oscillate consistently and accurately.
This is not to say that the earlier Rolex 16013 were not accurate, robust or durable, as there are countless Rolex 16013’s the world over on someones wrist right now. And properly maintained will continue to be a highly accurate and reliable watch for many years to come.
