During the Victorian era, men had their Albert chains to attach their pocket watch to, and the ladies had these lovely feminine Albertina's to wear with their pocket watches with the pocket watch at one end and attached to an outfit at the other, however today these are more commonly worn as a bracelet where they look so elegant sitting beautifully on the wrist, or when joined with another, make a fantastic necklace.
This one dates from the 1890's and was made in 9 carat rose gold, with the colour of the gold having that wonderful warm tone to it that adds to the charm and allure of the Albertina and makes it even more elegant to admire on the wrist.
At one end is a swivel to attach towards the other end to wear as a bracelet, and at the other end is a gorgeous twisted tee bar and foxtail link tassel, both of which add to the charm and character of this Albertina.
Laid out from end to end this measures 21.5cm, or to wear as a bracelet, attaching the swivel to a link at the other end measures 17.5cm.
If you have another Albertina, then joining them together makes a stunning necklace, and regardless of how you choose to wear this, there is no doubt that it will always look stunning.
