This antique brooch was made towards the end of the Victorian era in the 1890's and will look so elegant and refined on any outfit and even set with diamonds, it is not ostentatious in the slightest and will no doubt always be admired and commented on for this very reason.
Made in 15 carat gold, the brooch measures 51.3mm across by 17.5mm high and is set with two mine cut diamonds that total 0.26 carats as well as six rose cut diamonds that total 0.06 carats. There is nothing quite like genuine antique diamonds for all of their charm and character and the way they capture the light is just delightful making this the perfect brooch to wear during the day or night.

Antique crescent shaped brooch set with mine cut and rose cut diamonds
This antique diamond brooch was made in 15 carat gold in the late Victorian period of the 1890's. Set with two antique mine cut diamonds and six antique rose cut diamonds, the rose cut diamond was in fact one of the earliest cuts of diamonds. Going as far back as the late 1400's, the rose cut diamond is often seen in antique jewellery all the way to the Art Deco period of the 1920's to the 1940's.
The mine cut diamond was first cut at the start of the eighteenth century and is the first really brilliant cut diamond as it has fifty eight facets (cuts) just the same number as the modern round brilliant cut diamond of today.
Many brides-to-be now choose antique diamond engagement rings set with mine cut diamonds as well as the later European cut diamond.
