Antique ruby and diamond double cluster ring

$23,800.00

Here is a truly spectacular antique ruby and diamond double cluster ring dating from the 1880’s that is just incredible to admire from every angle that you look at it.

Hand made in 14 carat yellow gold and silver, silver was used to set the diamonds into during this time until the early 1900’s as until then white gold was not yet invented and platinum, although already discovered, was not used in jewellery until around the same time as white gold.

In the centre is a vibrant oval natural Burmese ruby from the Mong Hsu region, that measures 1.75 carats and displays the most incredible red that that is just incredible and has the colour that so many have always sought in a ruby for centuries. And then there is not one, but two rows of diamonds surrounding the rubies. The first row has thirteen diamonds and the outer row sixteen, and then there is a further diamond set on each shoulder. All the diamonds come together to total 0.88 carats and the top cluster section measures 17.3mm by 16.5mm across and with these dimensions plus the sparkle and beauty of the diamonds and ruby, this ring is destined to always be admired.

And typical of a finely made ring, the setting is just incredible and amazing to admire and made all the more incredible when you consider that this was hand made over130 years ago.

Set with a magnificent ruby and surrounded by diamonds in that stunning setting, this is one antique ruby and diamond ring like no other.
