Diamond Art Deco brooch hand made in gold and platinum

The fine detail in this brooch highlights the quality of hand made jewellery as well as the elegance of the Art Deco era in which it was made, and there is no doubt that this brooch will look so elegant on any outfit that it is worn on.

Hand made in 18 carat white gold and platinum in the 1920's, the elegant design with a cluster in the centre than reaching out from each side will easily allow this brooch to be worn horizontal as well as at an angle, and always capture the eye.

Measuring6cm in length, the cluster in the centre is made up of six round early brilliant cut diamonds surrounding a central early brilliant cut diamond that all come together to total 0.56 carats, with three single cut diamonds that graduate on each side ending at those gorgeous finials set with four more single cut diamonds. These additional diamonds total 0.21 carats and add the right amount of sparkle to the brooch.

With such fine detail that exemplifies the quality of Art Deco jewellery, there is no doubt that this brooch will be admired for its beauty and elegance from near or far.

Description

Diamond Art Deco brooch hand made in gold and platinum

This antique diamond Art Deco brooch was made in the 1920's. It is set with early round brilliant cut diamonds, and single cut diamonds.

What are single cut diamonds?

These are small diamonds usually around 0.01 carats to 0.05 carats and are often found on the shoulders of rings or surrounding a centre stone. While today modern technology will allow for a 0.01 carat diamond to have 58 facets and be a round brilliant cut diamond, single cut diamonds were used from the later part of the 19th Century up until around the 1930’s-1940’s. Commonly found with eight facets on the top (the crown) and eight facets on the bottom (the pavilion) these are sometimes found with total facets between 16 to 18.
