Edwardian Illusion bangle.

This is a wonderful piece and something to talk about!

An 18ct yellow gold Edwardian era (circa 1905) illusion bangle!

What appears to be a hinged bangle that tapers and expands out in design, it actually remains the same size around.

The illusion is created by the intircate design that will play tricks on your eyes every time that you look at it.

These are so hard to find, and one in a high carat of gold such as this is just superb.

This was one of the hardest pieces of jewellery to photo and really needs to be seen in real life to be believed.

Circa: 1905

What is rose gold?

Gold is alloyed with other metals to both harden and sometimes alter the colour of the gold. Whereas pure gold is very bright yellow in colour, it is also quite soft and malleable. This makes it unsuitable for jewellery as it will often break or split. Other metals are added such as copper and silver to make it harder. not only will this make the gold jewellery more durable, it will also alter the colour. The yellow colour may “soften” in its tone, or adding copper can make it more of a warm rose colour.
