Hardstone antique cameo ring from France

Made in the 1860's, this cameo ring is set in 18ct yellow gold was made in France and has the most superb quality hand carved cameo.

Carved in agate to show 2 different colours/layers, carving into a hardstone such as this was and still is considered so much harder than the traditional shell cameos.
