Here is a very rare bezel wind antique ball pendant watch that is truly amazing from inside and out.
Made in the 1870's this pendant watch separates itself from other ball pendant watches for three very special reasons.
Firstly it is made in 18 carat gold, while many of these pendant watches were made in silver. However the second and most important difference and feature of this one over so many others, is the absence of a crown to wind it.
To wind the movement, one simply rotates it at the centre. This is such a clever and ingenious design of this pendant watch that showcases the quality of the piece even further. To set the time, there is a discreet pin which is on the side, which once pressed and combined with turning the centre of the watch, this will engage and turn the hands to the desired time. With the Swiss made movement having just come back from a full service, it runs well and comes with our twelve month warranty.
And finally the third important feature of this, is that this very piece is featured on page 131 of “How the watch was worn: A fashion for 500 years†by Genevieve Cummins making this an even more exciting piece of history that is actually featured in her fantastic book.
Measuring 23.8mm across by 31.5mm or 35mm to the top of the bail, this is as exciting as it is extraordinary.
