Rare antique 4 sided photo locket

There is nothing so personal as an antique locket around our neck and these usually hold two photos, however here is an exceedingly rare antique 4 sided photo locket that is not only made in 15ct gold, but is exquisitely hand carved.

Dating from the late 1800’s, this antique locket was made in 15ct gold, which was a carat of gold only used for a short period until 1931 and has such a gorgeous colour to it.

Made in the form of a book, both sides of this locket have been painstakingly hand engraved which itself could have only been done by a master engraver. The quality of the engraving is superb and has such a wonderful tactile feel to it.

Measuring 23.1mm tall by 19mm wide x 8.5mm in thickness, on the side the hand engraved catch opens to reveal the inside that holds not the usual two photos but four.

Finding a locket that holds multiple photos is so hard to find and this one in gold and so magnificently hand carved is just a real treasure to own and personalise with photos of your loved ones.

Open or closed, this antique 4-sided photo locket is a real treasure and will certainly always be loved and cherished every time it is around the neck.
