Vintage 1968 Rolex 1600

There is something so special about having a vintage Rolex watch on your wrist, and in recent years the desire for vintage Rolex watches has skyrocketed, and here is a very stylish vintage Rolex Datejust 36 watch from 1968 that looks so smart on the wrist.

The stainless steel watch measures the comfortable 36mm across plus the Rolex screw down crown and was made in stainless steel and is fitted with the smooth stainless steel bezel. The dial is gorgeous to admire with the pie-pan feature of the dial curving inwards at the very edge adding to the charm and character that is so often sought after in vintage Rolex watches.

The watch is fitted on a stainless steel Rolex Jubilee band that feels so smooth and comfortable on the wrist, and inside the watch is powered by the highly regarded 26 jewelled automatic Rolex calibre 1570. The Rolex calibre 1570 is regarded as one of their finest movements that they produced, and this one has just been serviced by our in-house watchmaker who himself used to work for Rolex, and the watch now runs great and comes with our twelve month warranty.

This vintage Rolex is a wonderful example of why they are just as sought after now as when they were first released to the world.

Where can I service my Rolex watch in Sydney?

Kalmar Antiques now employ a Rolex trained watchmaker on site!

When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but a watchmaker who used to work for Rolex for nearly seven years. This allows us to be able to service your Rolex to Rolex standards, as well as other watch brands such as Omega, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few.

How often should I service my Rolex?

We recommend to service your Rolex every five years. If you wear the watch in water, we strongly suggest having your Rolex watch pressure tested once a year. This also applies to any other brand of watch that is worn in the water.
