Vintage Omega Seamaster 166.0266

The Omega Seamaster has been one of the most iconic watches ever produced, not just by Omega but by any watch company, and here is a great vintage Omega Day Date Seamaster that was made in 1984 and has just been completely restored by our in-house watchmaker.

With the great "TV screen" shaped case that measures 33.5mm across, this watch actually sits and feels larger on the wrist, and will look amazing day or night. With the easy to read dial that has the day and date feature, this gives it such an elegant look, all the while fitted on its original sports style band.

Inside it is powered by the beautiful 17 jewelled automatic Omega calibre 1020 that as mentioned has been completely serviced by our own watchmaker, who not only services our watches, but can service yours as well.

Even though the big trend now is to not polish a watch case, this watch had in its life been polished, so not only do we have a full watchmaking workshop, but also a state of the art polishing room, complete with a lapping machine which is the only way that a watch case can be correctly polished retaining the sharp lines of the case, as can be seen in the closeup shot. The attention to detail in polishing is what truly separates one watch from another, and this one here has been restored back to its original finish.

Perfect for anyone for any occasion, this vintage Omega Seamaster is just perfect.

Description

Vintage Omega Seamaster 166.0266

Vintage Omega Seamaster 166.0266 Day Date made in 1984

A brief history of the Omega Seamaster:

First released in 1948 which was also Omega's 100th Anniversary, the Omega Seamaster was designed to be a robust watch while still being very elegant making it one of the world's first watches that could be worn with a suit and tie as well as a wet suit in an age where blue collar watches and white collar watches never overlapped.

The Omega Seamaster was in fact born as a result of World War II where the British were after a watch with superior reliability and water resistance with very high precision.

After the war the Omega Seamaster became known as the watch to have on your wrist and one that would never let you down. This is a testament to the classic vintage Omega Seamaster watches that we have on offer.

Where can I service my Omega watch?

When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but a watchmaker. He used to used to work for Tag Heuer, LVMH and then Rolex, before coming to Kalmar Antiques. We also now have full access to Omega watch parts. This allows us to be able to service your Omega watch, as well as other watches such as Longines, Breitling, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few.

We suggest every 5 years to a maximum of 8 years.
Omega recommends that a complete service of your watch should be done every 5 to 8 years. If the watch is worn in water, we advise that the water resistance be checked every year.
