Vintage reversible fringe necklace made in 1981

$4,850.00

The fringe necklace would have to be one of those designs that has never gone out of fashion or style, and is so practical to wear for any occasion, day or night. And this one is certainly even more easy to wear with it being reversible in design.

Made in 9 carat gold in Birmingham in 1981, on one side it has a lovely textured finish, and on the other a smooth, high polished finish.

Measuring 38cm in length, this length allows the collar to sit perfectly around the neckline where it will no doubt always be admired and complimented on.

The longest drop section at the centre measures 19.1mm in length, and the chain around the back measures 6.5mm wide.

Day time or evening, formal or informal, this necklace is simply perfect for any occasion that you wear it in.

What is a fringe necklace?

A fringe necklace is one that is usually worn high around the collar. Often with long sections that graduate in length, form shorter at each end, to the longest in the centre. Cleopatra made the fringe necklace popular throughout the centuries. Popular during the Victorian period of the 1800’s, it also saw a massive resurgence in the Art Deco era of the 1920’s.

A fringe necklace has a style and design that so easily allows it to be fashionable on any woman of any age.
