Here is a great vintage Rolex Datejust 16013 that dates from 1987 and ticks all the right boxes for a collectable vintage Rolex.
Made in 18 carat yellow gold and stainless steel, this Rolex has the venerable automatic Rolex calibre 3035. Introduced in 1977, this movement was the first gents Rolex to have a high-beat movement, an upgraded power reserve to 50 hours, and the first model to have the quick-set date function. This high beat movement now resulted in the infamous "sweep" of the second hand and the movement in this Rolex has just come back from a full service and comes complete with our twelve month warranty.
The champagne coloured dial is set with ten diamonds that gives this Rolex such a great look during the day and well into the night and the case measures the iconic 36mm across plus the Rolex screw down crown.
In wonderful condition, this vintage Rolex is as good looking as it is iconic.

Gents 18 carat gold and steel vintage Rolex Datejust 16013
This stylish gents vintage Rolex Datejust is made in 18 carat yellow gold and stainless steel and fitted on the 18 carat gold and stainless steel Rolex Jubilee band. The watch case measures the iconic 36mm across plus the Rolex screw down crown. Fitted with the champagne coloured dial, it is highlighted with ten diamonds.
Rolex released their calibre 3035 in 1977 as the movement to take over from their esteemed calibre 1570. This meant that it not just had to be better, it had to make people realise that this was such a leap forward in watch movements which it was of course.
To begin with, it was Rolex's first gents watch to have a high beat movement. By increasing the balance speed from 19,800bph to 28,800bph, this new movement now offered an even greater level of accuracy than the earlier model, which itself was so highly regarded.
This new speed of the 3035 causes the seconds hand to now "tick" eight times per second, giving Rolex their iconic smooth sweep that is so characteristic of Rolex watches today.
The Rolex 16013 models used the 27 jewelled Rolex calibre 3035 which had an upgraded power reserve of 50 hours and along with this increase in its power reserve and frequency, the Rolex calibre 3035 was also was the first automatic movement to feature a quickset function.
