Art Deco jewellery such as this stunning Art Deco brooch has so much attention to detail that is simply captivating and will have you admiring this brooch both on any outfit and in the palm of your hand.
The Art Deco era of the 1920's to the 1940's was an era of decadence post World War I with precious metals such as gold combined with the use of platinum very often found such as in this brooch.
All hand made in 18ct yellow gold and platinum, platinum was often used during this time thanks to its pure white colour and ability to be drawn into a fine wire while retaining all the strength for the sapphires and diamonds.
In total there are 62 diamonds that total 1.86 carats and really make this Art Deco brooch sparkle magnificently.
The three natural sapphires add a wonderful contrast of colour to the brooch and really stand out set against the diamonds and platinum and total 1.54 carats.
Both the sapphires and diamonds are milgrain set which is seen as the delightful crimping along the edges of the setting which was a typical style of work by the jewellers of the Art Deco period.
Measuring 42.2mm across by 22mm wide and is made all the more beautiful by the open work detail.
From all angles this is a truly stunning and elegant example of an Art Deco sapphire and diamond brooch from the 1920's.
