Antique bloodstone seal

Seals have been used since Egyptian and Roman times and were used to literally “seal” an envelope to prevent it being opened without the recipient knowing, and here is a lovely antique seal from the Victorian era that will look so charming and elegant when used as a pendant and worn around the neck.

Made in 9 carat rose gold, the attractive design of this seal alone will make it loved and admired and on the base is a piece of bloodstone that looks wonderful against the rose gold.

Measuring 2.6cm tall plus the link for a chain, this is a wonderful example of antique jewellery that is steeped in history.
