A demi parure is the term given to a matching suite of jewellery such as this demi parure brooch and earring set that was made in the Victorian era in the 1870's.
So exquisite to admire from near or far, the brooch and earrings were made in 15 carat gold, with the the colour of the gold having such a beautiful warm glow to it that highlights the intricate detail on both the brooch and earrings.
The earrings measure 19.8mm across by 50.8mm or 55.7mm to the very top of the long and secure shepherd hooks and with the tassel sections swaying elegantly as you move, these will add such an alluring charm to an already stunning pair of earrings.
With the matching brooch that measures 42.3mm across by 68mm, it also has the tassel at the bottom, and like the earrings, there is a very elegant vertical section that is set with natural seed pearls and highlighted by a border of blue enamel.
The work on the gold section of all the pieces is truly amazing to admire and made all the more amazing when one considers the fact that this special suite was made 150 years ago.
Worn together or separately, there is no doubt that this suite of jewellery will always be admired and appreciated for the elegance and style that it exudes and will no doubt become a treasured family heirloom.
