Antique French necklace in gold and platinum

Here is an absolutely incredible antique necklace that is truly a one of a kind and of the finest quality and craftsmanship. Made in France in the early 1900's, this antique French necklace in gold and platinum and set with pearls sits perfectly around the neck and feels so lovely and tactile to the touch. Not only is it made in 18ct yellow gold, there is also a lovely rose gold and the very rare green gold. Green gold was only used for a relatively short time and was made by alloying the gold with cadmium, resulting in the gold obtaining a lovely soft green hue to it. And then there is the use of platinum giving it an additional pure white colour in the elegant wreath design as well as the oyster shell design.
In each of the oyster shells is a pearl which exemplifies the thought and attention that went into making this magnificent necklace all those years ago.
Laid out from end to end the necklace measures 42cm and from one end where there is one oyster shell across to the other, this distance measures 22cm.
Sitting absolutely perfect around the neck, this antique necklace is one of the finest that you will ever find and is just spectacular to admire from near or far.
