Antique enamel, pearl and diamond locket pendant from the 1870’s
This is truly a magnificent antique locket and one that will no doubt always be admired and commented on for its design and elegance.
Made in 15 cart gold in the Victorian period of the 1870’s, the front is designed with a gorgeous centre design that captures the eye. Set with four natural seed pearls with a rose cut diamond in the centre, there is then the most exquisite and fine border of blue enamel which is then further highlighted by eight more rose cut diamonds to add to the scintillation and charm of this remarkable locket.
With an incredible border and bold bow style and bail at the top, the locket measures 33mm across by 60mm to the very top and will so easily allow a multitude of chains to pass through.
Then turning it over reveals a locket compartment to add to the sentimental charm and making it so much more personal once a photo is placed inside.
Still in superb condition even well after 150 have passed since it was made, this is an exceptional example of high-Victorian jewellery.
