Antique silver buckle ring
The buckle design has been around in jewellery for centuries and was thought to represent a bond between two people, so it is no surprise that is was a very popular design in the romantic Victorian era when this ring was made.
Made in sterling silver in Birmingham in 1885, the ring measures 7.5mm wide and has such a wonderful tactile feel to it thanks to the incredible hand engraving all around the ring. The time needed to complete this as well as the attention to detail is a true testament to the quality of craftsmanship that was able to be achieved well over 100 years ago without any of the modern technology that we have today.
The design and feel of this ring on the finger are both wonderful, and this ring will also surprise so many when the discover that it is well over 130 years old, yet still not only looks amazing, but is also in great condition.
