Art Deco diamond necklace by Carrington & Co

$11,400.00

Here is a truly stunning antique necklace that is so elegant and regal in its design, that it is destined to always be worn with pride as well as being complimented on how beautiful it looks.

Hand made entirely in platinum in the gorgeous Art Deco era of the 1920's by Carrington & Co, platinum was the precious metal of choice during this era as it is able to be drawn into a fine wire, all the while being able to retain the strength needed for the piece as well as supporting all the diamonds.

And what a piece this is. The lace-like work is truly exceptional and complimented by the delicate sway of the diamonds, there is no doubt that this necklace will always be admired each and every time that it is worn.

Set with thirty four rose cut diamonds, nineteen single cut diamonds and twelve European cut diamonds, these all come together to total an impressive and dazzling 2.46 carats in weight. However as is typical of the elegance that is the Art Deco era, it isn't just the diamonds that makes this so outstanding, it is truly the exquisite craftsmanship that went into making htis by hand all those years ago.

The main pendant section measures 3.1cm across by 4.7cm from the bottom diamond to the top bow, and from end to end the platinum chain itself measures 44cm in length.

Complete with its original fitted box that even has two subtle pins to sit the top bow onto, this is one piece that is destined to become a much loved and treasured family heirloom.

When was the Art Deco era?

Broadly speaking the Art Deco era was from 1920 until 1940. There will be some people and publications that may state that it started after World War I in 1918, and lasted until 1950, but as there was no reigning monarch to dictate an actual start-finish time such as the Victorian era, the general concusses is from the 1920's through to the 1940's.
