Platinum engagement ring

$9,850.00

Here is such an elegant diamond engagement ring that has so many beautiful appeals that are not immediately seen or noticed that makes it even more special.

To begin with, it was handmade by our jeweller in platinum in such a wonderful and elegant design that will never go out of fashion or style. While there is nothing wrong with CAD/cast made rings, a ring that is handmade is so much stronger as well as having the additional advantage of being unique as opposed to being duplicated in the hundreds or even thousands.

And then there are the diamonds that are set into this gorgeous ring. Sitting proud in the centre is a vintage round early brilliant cut diamond that measures 0.60 carats. H in colour and P1 in clarity, and the inclusions that make it a P1 in clarity are clear as opposed to black, making them so hard to see and doesn’t affect the beautiful sparkle that it has. This diamond was from a damaged ring from the Art Deco era of the 1930’s that we couldn’t repair, so we have used the diamond making this a modern diamond engagement ring with of course a diamond that does not have to worry about being ethically sourced or being a blood diamond.

Then on each side are five single cut diamonds that total 0.08 carats and add the right amount of sparkle to the ring.

This engagement ring is so elegant, and from the design, the diamonds, and the hand made platinum setting, this is a ring that will always be treasured and loved.

Platinum engagement ring

Platinum engagement ring hand made by our jeweller. This diamond engagement ring is set with vintage cut diamonds making them ethically sourced.

What is a single cut diamond?

These are small diamonds usually around 0.01 carats to 0.05 carats in size. They are often found on the shoulders of rings or surrounding a centre stone for example. While today modern technology will allow for a 0.01 carat diamond to have 58 facets and be a round brilliant cut diamond, single cut diamonds were used from the later part of the 19th Century up until around the 1930’s-1940’s. Commonly found with eight facets on the top (the crown) and eight facets on the bottom (the pavilion) these are sometimes found with total facets between 16 to 18.
