In recent years, the popularity and desire for vintage Rolex watches has skyrocketed and this is no longer just for the sports models, but is just as true for the classic Rolex watches, such as this stylish vintage Rolex 1601.
Made in 1972, the watch measures the iconic 36mm across plus the Rolex screw down crown and was made in stainless steel and fitted with the 18 carat white gold bezel. The dial is gorgeous to admire with the pie-pan feature of the dial curving inwards at the very edge adding to the charm and character that is so often sought after in vintage Rolex watches.
The watch is fitted on a stainless steel Rolex Jubilee band that also has the date code for being made in 1972, and inside the watch is powered by the venerable 25 jewelled automatic Rolex calibre 1575. The Rolex calibre 1575 has long been regarded as one of their finest movements ever made, and this one has just been serviced by our in-house Rolex trained watchmaker, runs great and comes with our twelve month warranty.
This Rolex has all the character and charm of a vintage Rolex and will no doubt always be admired each and every time that it is worn.

Vintage 1972 Rolex 1601
This vintage 1972 Rolex 1601 has been completely serviced by our own in-house watchmaker.
The Rolex calibre 1575 (along with the 1570) is regarded as one of the best movements ever produced by Rolex.
Released in the mid-1960s, it was based on the Rolex 1560 movement. Now with a longer power reserve of 48 hours, hacking setting and a frequency increase to 2.75 Hz.
Kalmar Antiques now employ a Rolex trained watchmaker on site!
When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but a watchmaker who used to work for Rolex for nearly seven years. This allows us to be able to service your Rolex to Rolex standards, as well as other watch brands such as Omega, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few.
We recommend to service your Rolex every five years. If you wear the watch in water, we strongly suggest having your Rolex watch, or any watch for that matter, pressure tested once a year.
