Antique miners brooch

When gold was discovered in Australia in 1851, this of course started a gold rush that helped shape Australia in so many ways, and during the goldrush, just like in South Africa, jewellery in the form of mining became very popular and here is a wonderful antique miners brooch paying homage to this.

Made in 15 carat gold, the brooch measures 4cm across and is destined to always be admired and look fabulous on any outfit.

Designed as a pick and shovel, it not only has a gold nugget wrapped in “rope” around the handle of the shovel, but also remnants of gold on both the pick and shovel.
