The detail in this ring is just incredible and highlights the quality of work from not only a ring that is hand made, but one that was also made well over 100 years ago.
Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold in the 1890's, the ring is set with three oval pieces of natural turquoise that is so much harder to find in rings. Not only are the sizes of them a wonderful size, but set between each are two single cut diamonds that add a wonderful sparkle and charm to the ring.
Measuring 9.1mm wide at the centre by 19mm across, looking at the ring from the side will have you admiring it each and every time that it adorns your finger. The scroll work is just incredible and is a real testament to what the jewellers of this era could create without any of the modern jewellery equipment today.
This is a ring that not only sits so well on the finger, but looks sensational from each and every side that you look at it.

Antique turquoise and single cut diamond ring made in the late Victorian era.
This antique turquoise and diamond ring with scroll work sides was hand made in 18 carat yellow gold. It is set with three pieces of natural turquoise. Between each one are two antique single cut diamonds.
What are single cut diamonds?
There is another important cut of diamond that is often found in antique jewellery, which is the single cut diamond. These are small diamonds usually around 0.01 carats to 0.05 carats and are often found on the shoulders of rings or surrounding a centre stone for example. While today modern technology will allow for a 0.01 carat diamond to have 58 facets and be a round brilliant cut diamond, single cut diamonds were used from the later part of the 19th Century up until around the 1930’s-1940’s. Commonly found with eight facets on the top (the crown) and eight facets on the bottom (the pavilion) these are sometimes found with total facets between 16 to 18.
