Liberty & Co were one of the most influential jewellery stores of the late 19th, early 20th century for the Art Nouveau era and produced some amazing pieces of jewellery such as this Art Nouveau amethyst pendant and pearl made in rose gold.
Liberty and Co started in 1875 by Arthur L. Liberty in England and really embraced the “new” Art Nouveau styles coming into fashion which can be seen here with the elegant flowing designs of this pendant.
Made in 9ct rose gold, the rose colour of the gold is so warm and has achieved the patina that only an antique piece of jewellery can achieve and looks so wonderful against the skin and set with two amethysts that compliments perfectly with the rose gold.
At the bottom is a natural white pearl that completes this piece so well and the entire style is so characteristic of the jewellery produced in the Liberty & Co workshop.
The pendant measures 37.1mm wide by 37mm to the pearl or 52.3mm from the top amethyst connected to the two chains to the pearl at the bottom and really looks amazing on the neckline and will always stand out and be admired.
The flowing lines of this pendant made in the warmth of rose gold and by Liberty and Co makes this a wonderful piece of not only Art Nouveau jewellery but also jewellery from Liberty and Co, and something to be treasured and loved.
