Rolex President 18038 with the rare pinball diamond dial

The Rolex Day Date President watch has remained such an iconic Rolex model for over sixty years, and here is a fabulous model with the very rare diamond "pinball" dial.

Made in solid 18 carat yellow gold, this Rolex 18038 President measures the stylish 36mm across plus the screw down crown and makes such an elegant statement on the wrist.

The ivory coloured dial looks so unique, and making it even more special is not just the diamonds, but the way the diamonds are set. Traditionally the diamonds on a Rolex dial will be in a square setting with small claws, and here they are set into a round bezel, hence the term "pinball" dial. Combined with the smooth look with the dial, this gives it such a sleek look that will make sure that it is always admired each and every time it is worn.

The Rolex President band is in great condition and has such a wonderful heft to it, and inside the watch is powered by the beautiful 27 jewelled automatic Rolex calibre 3055 that has just come back from a complete service by our own in-house watchmaker who used to work for Rolex until coming to us. With the watch running beautifully, it comes with our twelve month warranty and is as beautiful inside as it is out.

This Rolex President is as unique as it is rare, and is one that will certainly get the attention and admiration that it rightly deserves.

What is the Rolex President?

Since its release in 1956, the Rolex Day Date "President" has always remained a sought after Rolex model. The Rolex Day Date became one to represent success and accomplishment as it was worn by some very influential people. Becoming known as the Presidents watch as several US presidents wore one. These included US Presidents such as Dwight Eisenhower, John F Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon. The Rolex Day Date has also been worn by Winston Churchill. Initially the term "President" referred to the type of bracelet attached to the Day Date, however it soon came to commonly refer to the entire timepiece. The Rolex Day Date 1803 was introduced in 1961 and over the years has undergone some changes. Most notably with the movement, and until recently a now larger watch case.

Where can I service my Rolex watch in Sydney?

Kalmar Antiques now employ a Rolex trained watchmaker on site!

When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but a watchmaker who used to work for Rolex for nearly seven years. This allows us to be able to service your Rolex to Rolex standards, as well as other watch brands such as Omega, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few.

How often should I service my Rolex?

We recommend to service your Rolex every five years. If you wear the watch in water, we strongly suggest having your Rolex watch, or any watch for that matter, pressure tested once a year.
