This treatment is worldwide accepted as a normal treatment and not deceiving in any way and is accepted as a standard treatment for sapphires and rubies as it remains stable and does not damage the stone. However the sapphire in this ring is a very beautiful unheat treated Ceylonese sapphire that has the most incredible and intense colour that looks spectacular.
Measuring an impressive 3.59 carats, this sapphire has been certified as having no heat treatment and being a Ceylonese sapphire. Ceylonese sapphires have been regarded as home of some of the finest sapphires in the world, and the colour in this sapphire truly exemplifies this. With such a magnificent royal blue colour, it is highlighted by a mine cut diamond on each side.
These diamonds total 1.88 carats, and compliment the sapphire so well. With all the charm and character of being one of the earliest cuts of diamonds, this is certainly one ring that will always stand out and be admired every time it is worn.
Made in 18 carat yellow gold, the ring measures 19.5mm across by 12.2mm and dates from the Victorian era of the 1890's, this ring is truly spectacular.

This ring is set with a beautiful 3.59 carat unheated Ceylonese sapphire and two antique mine cut diamonds. All of this is set in an 18 carat yellow gold setting.

Sapphires and rubies have been heat treated for centuries to improve their colour and clarity and this is a worldwide accepted practice. It should be clarified that a sapphire or ruby that has undergone some form of heat treatment is still a natural gemstone from the ground and is not a synthetic/man made stone. Furthermore this treatment is completely stable and worldwide accepted as normal. Lately on the market there is a technique of glass filling or lead filling stones which will improve the colour of a natural gemstone, however this treatment is very unstable and the stone may look worse in a few years.
The unheated sapphire in this ring is a Ceylonese sapphire, regarded as the home of the finest sapphires in the world, and being an unheat treated sapphire makes this ring so much more special.
