Sterling silver antique hand engraved locket made in 1879
$1,450.00
Today it is common to mass produce lockets including having the “engraved” design simply being pressed or stamped out, or if it is engraved, this is done by a drill, however nothing beats the quality as well as the tactile feel to the touch of an antique locket that has been exquisitely hand engraved such as this beautiful sterling silver hand antique engraved locket made in 1879.
It is incredible to think that this locket was made over 140 years ago and not only looks incredible on both sides, but is still in wonderful condition. The amount of hours and skill obtained to hand engrave this locket would have been immense and is a true testament to the quality of craftsmanship to the person who achieved this. Wearing this around your neck, it will be difficult to decide which way to wear forward as both sides are just as beautiful as one another.
Not only are both sides engraved, but the bail for the chain to go through has also been engraved showing how much care and attention to detail went into making this all those years ago.
Measuring 50.6mm or 66mm to the top of the bail by 39.7mm across, inside it will easily hold two photos making this so much more personal that just a pendant and is a piece of jewellery that looks as beautiful today as when it was made.
