Antique amethyst riviere necklace

A riviere is a necklace where the necklace is set with gemstones, usually graduating in size, that go all the way around the neck, and here is a truly magnificent antique riviere necklace that was made in the Victorian era and looks incredible around the neck.

Dating from the 1870’s, the necklace was made in 9 carat rose gold, and even the gold has such a lovely warm tone to it that compliments the amethysts perfectly.

In total there are twenty four natural amethysts that graduate so elegantly and come together to total approximately 63 carats. Measuring 38.5cm, it sits perfectly around the neckline where it will no doubt always be noticed and admired each time that it is worn.

Destined to become a much loved and treasured necklace, this is a magnificent example of Victorian jewellery that will make any woman feel like royalty when wearing it.
