Antique sardonyx signet ring
$2,450.00
Antique signet rings have such a wonderful and unique look and feel to them, and here is one that dates from the late Victorian era that both looks and feels so good on the finger.
Made in 18 carat yellow gold in the late Victorian period of the 1890’s, in the centre is a shield shaped piece of sardonyx. Sardonyx is a cryptocrystalline variety of the quartz family and has been used for centuries for signet rings as well as seals, as it is a very durable material that can be carved with a family crest as was the tradition years ago.
Measuring 12.6mm across by 11.6mm on the top, even the band is so attractive to admire with the beautiful hand carved shoulders that adds an extra element of character to an already very beautiful ring.
This is a wonderful example of an antique signet ring that is still in wonderful condition even afer 130 years have passed since it was made.
