Antique hand engraved photo locket made in 1879

This locket is truly breathtaking and once photos are placed inside, will become a much loved and treasured piece of jewellery to wear around your neck with pride.

Made in sterling silver in Birmingham in 1879, the design on front is so incredible and when you consider that this was made well over 140 years ago, this makes it even more astonishing.

The front of the locket has the most highly detailed and intricate engraving that was entirely done by hand, and is complimented by the silver twist work on either side as well as more detail at the bottom with more silver work and beads.

With an incredible layered work to it, even the bail at the top was hand engraved which shows just how much time and effort was put into creating this magnificent locket all those years ago.

Measuring 36.5mm wide by 47.1mm, or 62mm to the top of the bail, inside it will hold two photos and has the bezels to keep them safe and secure.

Perfect to wear on a chain or a collar for a real statement piece, this is such an incredible locket that will always be loved and admired.
