Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold in the late Victorian period of the 1890, the ring is set in the centre with a gorgeous antique cushion cut ruby that measures 0.50 carats in weight and along with the two side rubies, displays such a fine red colour that shows just why rubies have been so highly prized for centuries.
Surrounding the centre ruby are eight old single cut diamonds that come together to total 0.14 carats, and are set into a wonderful scalloped border that adds to the charm and character of the ring even more.
The side rubies total 0.20 carats and complete the look of the ring so perfectly.
From left to right the ring measures 19mm across by 8.7mm wide at the centre, and in wonderful condition, this is a ring that will always be cherished.

Ruby and diamond antique ring
Ruby and diamond antique ring made in the late Victorian period of the 1890's. This ring will suit any finger as well as making a wonderful antique ruby and diamond engagement ring. This ring is set with three natural rubies and single cut diamonds.
What is a single cut diamond?
These are small diamonds usually around 0.01 carats to 0.05 carats in size. They are often found on the shoulders of rings or surrounding a centre stone for example. Generally today's modern technology will allow for a 0.01 carat diamond to have 58 facets and be a round brilliant cut diamond, single cut diamonds were used from the later part of the 19th Century up until around the 1930's-1940's. Commonly found with eight facets on the top (the crown) and eight facets on the bottom (the pavilion) these are sometimes found with total facets between 16 to 18.
