Victorian photo locket

$750.00

Flowers have had so many representations over the years for such things as love and romance, and the Victorians certainly knew how to embrace these romantic sentiments in their jewellery such as in this lovely antique photo locket from the Victorian era.

Made in the 1890’s, one side of the locket is hand engraved with trumpet flowers and roses, with the trumpet flower representing elegance and grace, and the rose of course love.

The other side is hand engraved with ivy which was used to represent everlasting love, friendship or marriage. No matter which side is facing forward, there is no doubt that this is such a romantic and special piece of jewellery.

Inside, the locket can hold two photos that once placed inside will make this locket so much more special and personal to the wearer.

Measuring 35.2mm across by 47mm or 60mm to the top of the bail, this is a wonderful piece of jewellery that is so full of not just charm and character, but sentiment as well.
