Antique enamel and diamond necklace with lockets set into the back

Dating from the 1870's, the necklace was made in 15 carat gold and laid out from end to end it measures 40.5cm in length and sits perfectly around the neckline. However it is the three drop sections combined with the lower chain connecting them that really makes this piece stand out.

Rare antique garnet earrings with lockets on reverse side
There is quite often something so unique and special with antique jewellery and these antique garnet earrings certainly have that something special.
Dating from the Victorian era of the 1880's, these earrings were made in 15ct gold. 15ct was used as a British standard until 1931 making this alone something special about them.
Each earring is set with a cabochon cut garnet which has a rich burgundy colour, and the setting around the garnet itself is so elegant and typical of Victorian era jewellery of this time. The colour of the garnet matches so well with the colour of the 15ct gold and from left to right they measure 14.9mm across and from the bottom to the top of the shepherd hook where it starts to curve over, this distance measures 31.4mm making these earrings the perfect length to wear all the time with pride.
However ironically it is the reverse side that reveals something so unique and special about these earrings - on the back of each earring is a photo locket allowing a secret photo to be placed in each earring. It is this small but incredible feature that makes these earrings so spectacular and unique.
Antique jewellery is always full of surprises, and these antique garnet earrings are so special and will become a real talking piece.
