Antique Georgian era cut steel seal made in the 1800’s
Cut steel jewellery was commonly used from the late 1600's through to the mid-Victorian era, and became so sought after that during the 18th century at times cut steel was worth more than gold, and here is a fabulous antique steel seal made during the Georgian period of the early 1800's. This cut steel seal measures 35.2mm tall and the oval base measures 20.8mm by 18.7mm and has the most fantastic family crest set into it. Used to quite literally "seal" an envelope once warm wax has been placed on an envelope that has been closed or used also for official documents, this particular seal has such a wonderful tactile feel and heft to it that will no doubt always be such an incredible conversation starter. Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring made in the 1930’s

Jewellery made during the Art Deco period from the 1920's through to the 1940's often resulted in taking a traditional design and making it "modern" such as in this Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring made in the 1930's. Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, instead of having one row of diamonds surrounding the sapphire in the centre, there are actually two clusters of diamonds - the inner cluster being set with five single cut diamonds and the outer row being set with twelve single cut diamonds. These diamonds come together to total 0.46 carats and the sapphire in the centre measures 0.16 carats. Sitting perfectly on the finger, the cluster section at the top measures 11.6mm by 10mm across and leads to the gorgeous tapered band. Made by the English jewellery company A.W Crosbee and Sons, this is a delightful and charming example of the beauty of Art Deco jewellery. Antique sterling silver Albertina that would make a wonderful bracelet

Antique mid-Victorian era diamond earrings made in the 1860’s
These earrings date from the 1860's and are each set with the most wonderful genuine antique diamonds in a style and design that looks spectacular on the ear. Hand made 18 carat yellow gold and silver, the tops where the diamonds are set are in silver as this was used as white gold was not yet invented and it was already known that setting diamonds in yellow gold can artificially tint the diamonds more yellow, hence silver being used. The earrings have such a regal design that look incredible that takes you back to a bygone era. Measuring 10mm across by 24.7mm they are fitted on newer post fittings each secured by a butterfly and sit perfectly on the ear. Each earring is set with a total of twenty one antique mine cut diamonds that total 1.54 for both earrings.
